Ethio-German Micro and Small Enterprises Development Project phased out !

The Ethio-German MSE Development Project has been phased out end of October 2005. The former project manager, Yared Fekade, has been taken over into the Private Sector Component of the upcoming Engineering Capacity Building Programme (ECBP).

Subsidised Loans for Small and Medium Enterprises - USAID
Dashen Bank and USAID signed a loan guarantee agreement that will allow the bank to give short and medium term loans to small and medium enteprises engaged in the manufacturing, service and agriculture sectors. The program will provide Dashen Bank with a collateral substitute of up to 50% guaranteed under the terms of the agreement for a total of 10 million US Dollars for new small and medium borrowers.

“Together with two other loan guarantee programs of Abysinia Bank and Awash International Bank, this raises the total Development Credit funding to 28 million dollars, benefiting small and medium enterprises, farmers, cooperatives and agribusinesses.” US Embassy acting Deputy Chief of Mission Brain Moran said.
